1971-09-30 SPM279 WAIVER OF NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING OF THE TOWN BOARD OF THE TOWN'OF WAPPINGE R DUTCHESS COUNTY, NEW YORK The undersigned, being all of the members of the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger, Dutchess County, New York, do hereby waive notice of the time and place of the holding of a Special Meeting of said Town Board, and do hereby agree and consent that the same be held on the 30th day of September, 1971, at 5:30 o'clock in the afternoon of that_day at the Town._ Hall of the Town of Wappinger, Mill Street, in the Village of Wappingers Falls, Town of Wappinger, Dutchess County, New York, for the transaction of all business which may properly come before the -meeting or any adjournment thereof. Town Clerk Town of Wappinger A Special Meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger was held on Thursday, September 30, 1971, at the Town Hall, Mill Street, Wappingers Falls, County of Dutchess, New York. All Board members being present, and having signed the above waiver of notice of Special Meeting, each for himself, Supervisor Diehl called the meeting to order at 5:55 P.M. -28© Others Present: Allan Rappleyea, Attorney to the Town Rudolph Lapar, Engineer to the Town The following Resolution was introduced by COUNCILMAN MILLS, who moved its adoption. WHEREAS, the New York State Department of Audit and Control has before it the application of the Town of Wappinger for the approval of Wappinger Sewer Improvement #1, and WHEREAS, the Town Board has examined the attached report of Rudolph E. Lapar and concurs in the conclusions therein set forth, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town Board hereby concurs in the report of Rudolph E. Lapar attached hereto and made a part hereof, and hereby directs the Town Clerk to forward certified copies of this resolution and the attached report of Rudolph E. Lapar to the New York State Department of Audit and Control, Albany, New York. Seconded by: Mr. Finnan Roll Call Vote: 5 Ayes MR. MILLS moved the name of Allan Cook to fill the vacancy on the Planning Board, who is presently a Fire Chief in Hughsonville, has been in the County for 15 years, has worked with the postoffice in setting up street numbers, he is very knowledgeable of the Town because of his work in firematics. Seconded by Mr. Holt. Before taking a vote on this motion, Mr. Diehl explained that he did not want to vote on anyone tonight, as they had put a notice in the W&SD News asking for people in the Town to come forth for this vacancy and other Vacancies on committees. He, therefore, wanted to wait for responses and go over the qualifications of those who had expressed interest. As yet, they had had no recommendation from the Planning Board. Mr. Mills informed the other Board members that he would not be present at the Regular Meetings in October and November, and therefore wanted to fill the vacancy tonight. Roll Call Vote was taken on Mr. Mill's motion appointing Mr. Cook to the Planning Board. FINNAN moved to change the date of the Regular Meeting in October from October 11 to Tuesday, October 12, 1971, because of the holiday. Seconded by: Mr. Holt. Motion Unanimously Carried MR. HOLT moved that William Mihans be appointed as part-time sewer and water operator, at an annual salary of $7,000, on a work schedule of approximately thirty hours a week, to be worked out between Mr. Gutmann and Mr. Mihans, and this position would be subject to the approval of the Dutchess County Department of Personnel. Seconded by: Mr. Finnan. Motion Unanimously Carried MR. MILLS moved to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Mr. Holt and carried. The meeting adjourned at 6:15 P.M. Sp. Mtg. 9/30/71 Elaine H.
