1966-10-10 SPM280 WAIVER OF NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING OF THE TOWN BOARD OF THE TOWN OF WAPPINGER DUTCHESS COUNTY. NEW YORK The undersigned, being all of the members of the Town Board of the Town of Wappjnger, Dutchess County, New York, do hereby waive notice of the time and place of the holding of a Special Meeting of said Town Board, and do hereby agree and consent that the same be held on the 10th day of October, 1966, at 7:00 o'clock in the afternoon of that day at the Town Hall of the Town of Wappinger, Mill Street, in the Village of Wappingers Fails, Town of Wappjnger, Dutchess County, New York, for the transaction of all business which may properly come before the meeting or any adjournment thereof. Due and timely notice of the above mentioned meetin0 is hereby admitted. Town Clerk Town of Wappinger Meeting called at 11:55 P.M. for the purpose of adopting preliminary budget. It was agreed that a Public Hearing be set for 8:00 P.M. on the 10th day of November, 1966, for the purpose of adopting the Annual Budget for the Town of Wappinger for the year 1967. Mr. Francese: I don't go for the uniforms in the Highway Budget, also I think you will find that every elected official in this Town has put in for a raise except for our Supervisor. He is Supervisor in the second largest town, with more problems. I think he should get at least $1,000 raise. It could be a salary of anywhere from $4,500 to $6,000. Mr. Bulger made a motion that the following resolution approving the Preliminary, Budget be adopted: Seconded by Mr. Clausen. RESOLVED, that this Town Board does hereby prepare and approve as the preliminary budget of this Town for the fiscal year beginning on the 1st day of January, 1967, the itemized statement of estimated revenues and expenditures hereto attached and made a part. of this resolution, and be it FURTHER RESOLVED, that such preliminary budget shall be filed in the office of the Town Clerk where it shall be available for inspection by any in terested person at all reasonable hours, and be it FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Board shall meet at 8 o'clock P.M. on the 10th day, of November, 1966, for the purpose of holding a public hearing Upon such preliminary budget, and be it FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Town Clerk give notice of such public hearing in the manner provided in Section 113 of the Town Law, and that such notice be published and posted in substantially the following form: NOTICE OF HEARING UPON PRELIMINARY BUDGET NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the preliminary budget of the Town of Wappinger for the fiscal year beginning January 1st, 1967, has been completed and filed in the office of the Town Clerk, at Mill Street, Wappingers Falls, New York, where it is available for inspection by any interested person al all reasonable hours. FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger will meet and review said preliminary budget and hold a public hearing thereon, at the Town Hall at 8:00 o'clock P.M. on the 10th day of November, 1966, and that at such hearing any person may be heard in favor of or against the preliminary budget as compiled or for or against any item or items therein contained. Pursuant to Section 113 of the Town Law, the proposed salaries of the following town officers are hereby specified as follows: Supervisor $4,500.00 Justices of the Peace 6,000.00 Councilman 1,500.00 Councilman 1,500.00 Town Clerk 6,200.00 Superintendent of Highways 8,500.00 BY ORDER OF THE TOWN BOARD s/ Elaine H. Snowden Town Clerk Dated: October 11, 1966 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that such notice shall be published twice in the following newspaper having general circulation within the Town: Wappinger Southern Dutchess News, the first publication to be on or before the 27th day of October, 1966 and the second 2$4 publication on any day subsequent thereto and before the day of such hearing. Roll Call Vote as follows: Mr. Francese aye Mr. Clausen aye Mr. Diehl no Mr. Bulger aye Mr. Fulton no Resolution duly adopted. Mr. Diehl: I object to the raise in salary for myself and the omission of an allowance for Chelsea Road. Mr. Fulton: The fact that we adopt this budget tonight we are acting pursuant to law that we're supposed to produce a budget by tomorrow morning. Mr. Clausen: You can always knock it out, but there is not enough to begin with. Mr. Fulton: I' m not agreeing with everything in that budget as it is now. Mr. Francese: There are two things you can up anytime you want to, and one is highway. You cannot increase anything except Highway and Town Indebtedness. Mr. Diehl: Increase by a majority vote. Motion made by Mr. Bulger, seconded by Mr. Clausen, to adjourn meeting. Motion Unanimously Carried. Meeting adjourned at 1:00 A.M. s/ Elaine H. Snowden Town Clerk
