A Special Meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger was held
on Tuesday, October 4, 1966, at the Town Hall, Mill Street, Wappingers
Falls, New York, for the purpose of receiving the estimated Budgets
for the Town of Wlappinger for 1967, at 7:00 P.M.
Present:

Supervisor Fulton called the Meeting to order at 7:11 P.M.
Mrs. Snowden presented the estimated budgets from the Supervisor,
Town Clerk, Justices, Councilman Clausen, Assessors, Recreation,
Zoning and Building Inspector, Planning Board and Highway; also
Grinnell Library and Sloper Willen Ambulance.
An informal review of the Recreation Budget was held between the Board
and members of the Recreation Commission. Items submitted in their
Budget were detailed by Mr. Maurer, Chairman, specifying areas of work
they intend to cover.
Mr. Fielding Browne explained the remodeling of the Library Building
which was the basis for the requested increase in their proposal to
the Town. The Board discussed the Zoning and Building Administrators
estimated Budget with Mr. Ludewig. The Planning Board had made an
allowance for the secretary in their Budget, but after discussing the
technicalities 0 Susan Pikes multiple duties as Planning Board
secretary and secretary to the Building and Zoning departments, it was
decided to include the allowance for Planning Board meetings in her
salary in the Zoning and Building Budget solely. The possibilities
of raising the fees for Building Permits and Certificates of Occupancy
was brought up, and requested to be put on the agenda for the December
Board Meeting. Mr. Ludewif felt he could have some sort of a basic
schedule worked up for discussion by then. Fees could then be in=
creased the first of the year. The salary scale for Town employees

was thrashed around briefly. Decision was that it would be a Board
project in the coming year to inaugurate a fair and equitable
pay for future guides.
Further discussion was held on proper placement of various and
sundry budgetary items.
Mr. Fulton requested that all department heads not present tonight
be asked to sit informally with the Board tomorrow night to go over
their individual items.
