1965-11-01 PHA Public Hearing was held by the Town Board, Town of Wappinger, in the Town Hall, Mill Street, Wappingers Falls, N. Y. on Monday evening, November 1, 1965 at 7:30 p. m. Present: Supervisor Richard H. Linge, Councilman George Robinson, Justice of the Peace William Bulger, Attorney for the Town Harold Reilly, Superintendent of Highway Robert Lawson, Councilman Louis Diehl, Deputy Town Clerk Agnes M. Grosenbeck. The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Supervisor Richard H. Linge. The Deputy Town Clerk read the notice of the meeting on the budget. Supervisor Linge stated that the meeting was now open. Mr. Brannen said that earlier in the year mention was made to increase the election inspectors pay. He asked if any provision had been made. Supervisor Linge said no increase had been made. He also stated that this was in line with what the rest of the towns and counties were doing. Justice of the Peace Bulger said that it would be impossible to increase the election inspectors pay because of the excessive expense the town will have next year for P.P.R. Supervisor Linge said that there was $14,000 next year for compensation and expenses for election officials. Mr. Brannen said there is $14,000 for compensation and mileage. He also asked if the cost of P.P.R. was included in this. He wanted to know how much was included for P.P.R. Supervisor Linge said it would be up to each election district. Mr. Brannen asked how much it would cost for a meal allowance. He said $1.50 isn't much money for the hours the election inspectors put in. He asked if this would be considered. Justice of the Peace Bulger asked Mr. Brannen when he wanted it to be considered. Mr. Brannen said he would like it to be considered next year. Mr. Bisom asked what the Town Engineer received for a salary. Supervisor Linge said he didn't receive a salary that the town engineer was paid by contract. Justice of the Peace Bulger said Mr. Kelley receives S10,500 a year. Supervisor Linge added that this was a reduction from last year. Mr. Bisom asked what was the planning board budget. Supervisor Linge said it was $4,145. Mr. Bisom asked if Mr. Kelleys salary was included in the planning board? Supervisor Linge said no. Supervisor Linge asked if there were any more questions.
