1964-01-07 ReorgA Special re-organizational meeting of the Town Board, Town of Wappinger 1 was held on Thesday evening, January 7, 1964 at the Town•H all. Present:-Supervisor-Richard H. Linge, Councilmen-Mallolm Hait and George ,b;anson, Justices of the Peace, Vincent Francese and William Bulger, Town Attorney?Judson Williams, Chairman of Planning Board--a. W. Vanderwinkel, Building Inspector-Joseph Ludewig, Superintendent of Highways-Robert Lawson, Deputy Sup- erintendent of Highways-Kenneth Croshier, Town Clerk-Helen L. Travis. The meeting was opened at 7:45 P. M. by Supervisor Richard H. Linge. Motion was made by Justice of Peace Bulger and seconded by Justice of Peace Francese that Harry Straley be appointed Dog Warden for the year 1964. Motion carried Motion was made by Councilman Hait and seconded by Councilman Robinson that the Highway workers salaries be set as follows for the year 1964. Motion carried OPERATORS CHAUFFEURS LABORERS $2.20 per hour $2.00 per Hr. 1.90 per hr. Motion was made by Councilman Robinson and seconded by Councilman Hait that the salary of Highway Foreman be set at $2.50 per Hr. Motion carried Motion was made by Justice of Peace Bulger and seconded by Council- man Robinson that the Wappingers Falls Office of the Marine Midland National Bank of Southeastern New York be designated as the Dep- ository for Town Funds, for the .Town of Wappinger for the year 1964. Motion carried Motion was made by Councilman Hait and seconded by Councilman Robinson that Verner Christensen be appointed Chairman of the Board of Assessors. Motion carried Supervisor Richard H. Linge appointed Councilman Malcolm Hait to act as Deputy Supervisor. Motion carried Town Clerk , Helen L. Travis appointed Mrs. Agnes M. Grosenbeck, Clinton Urey and Joseph Raffaele as Deputy Town Clerks. Motion carried 2 Motion wasXflade by Councilman Hait and seconded by Justice of Peace Bulger /that Joseph Ludewig be appointed Building Inspector. Motion carried Motion made by Justice of the Peace Bulger and seconded by Justice of the Peace Francese that Joseph Ludewig be appointed Zoning Inspector. Motion carried Motion was made by Justice of the Peace Franceseand seconded by Justice of the Peace Bulger that the following be appointed Constables for the year 1964; -Robert Laf•fin, Dwight Robbins, Elting Scott, Walter Altonen and Radph Altonen. Motion was made by Councilman Hait and seconded by Councilman Rob- inson that the following salary schedule be set. NAME Richard H. Motion carried Motion was made by Councilman Hait and seconded by Councilman Rob- inson that the Town Meeting be held on the first Thursday following the first Tuesday of each month at 8 P. M.- Motion carried 11 Motion was made by Councilman Hait and seconded by Justice of the Peace Bulger that Helen L. Travis be appointed Tax Coll- ector for the Town of Wappinger Motion carried Motion was made by Justice of the Peace Bulger and seconded by Justice of the Peace Francese that Helen L. Travis be appointed Registrar of Vital Statistics for tike Years. Motion carried Superiiikendent of Highways, Robert Lawson appointed Kenneth Croshier, Deputy Highway Superintendent for the term of 1 year. Motion carried Motion was made Concilman Robinson and seconded be Councilman Hait that the W & S. D. News be made the official paper of the town. Motion was carried. Justice of Peace Frances • abstained from voting. A. W. Vanderwinkel, chairman of the Planning Committee reported to the Board about the Clark Associates and stated he was going to contact the the Dutchess County Planning Board about some assistance. Motion was made by Councilman Hait and seconded by Councilman Robinson that the meeting adjourn. Motion carried. Motion was made by Councilman Robinson and seconded by Councilman Hait that a check be drawn for the Town Clerk in order for her to obtain her Stamp Machine in the sum of $500.00. Motion carried Motion was made by Councilman Robinson and seconded by Councilman Hait that the meeting adjourn. Motion carried Signed Town Clerk The minutes of January 7, 1964 are hereby amended as follows: On page 2, under salary schedule the Headings should read Yearly Salary-- Payable. On Page 2 --Motion should read -Motion was made by Councilman Hait and seconded by Justice of Peace Bulger that the Town Board be allowed $110 per mile for mileage. Motion carried. Signed J.
