1963-05-09 RGMThe regular monthlt meeting of the Town Board, Town of Wappinger was held on Thursday evening, May 9, 1963, in the Town Hall, Mill Street, Wappingers Falls, N. Y. Present: -Supervisor; -Richard H. Linge, Councilmen -Malcolm Hait & George Robinson, Justice of the Peace -William Bulger, Town Engineer Charles Maneri, Town Attorney -Judson Williams, Town Superintendent of Highways -Kenneth Croshier-Town Clerk -Helen L. Travis. The meeting was called to order at 8 P. M. by Supervisor Richard H. Linge. The minutes of the y meeting were read. Motion was made by Justice of Peace Bulger and seconded by Councilman Robinson that they be accepted as read. Motion carried The bills for the month of April werelread. Motion was made by Cmmit:um Bulger and seconded by Councilman Robinson that this letter be referred to the Zoning Board of Appeals and Planning Board for further zufeurnmem decision. Motion carried. Town Clerk, Helen L. Travis, presented the Audit of the State of the Books of the Town for years 1959, 1960 & 1961. Books were found to be in order with a few minor corrections. Audit is on file in office where it can be seen 1 anyone. It was reported that a public hearing would be held on May 16th, 1963 at the Hughsonville Firehouse at 8 o"clock on the re -zoning of Lilyan Berger, Tall Trees property. Councilman Robinson reported that he had been working on the CAitleut— Neranid=mbiCig right of way situation and was awaiting word from Radcliffe Hustis, Beacon whoAlizx is to give him an estimate 291 on same. Superintendent of Highways, Kenneth Croshier reported that bids had been opened for new1Loader etc. Mr. Croshier reported he had awarded the contract to Contractors Machinery Corporation whose bid was $6,393.00. A letter was read from Quiet Acres Civic Association in refer= ence to roads. Mr. Kenneth Croshier Highway Superintendent is to write a letter stating that the roads should be completed. Russel Aldrich presented papers and maps in reference to a Public Hearing in the Hughsonville Firehouse on Monday evening June 3, 1963 at 8 P. M. for the Extension of the Hughsonville Lighting District. Motion was made by Councilman Hait and second8d by Justice of Peace Bulger that a public hearing be held on June 3, 1963 at 8 P. M. in the Hughsonville Firehouse, Hughsonville, N. Y. on the proposed extention of the Hughsonville Lighting District. Motion carried Russell Aldrich presented an application for re-aoning of property owned by Lavery & Coughlin. Town Clerk to refer this to the Zoning Board of Appeals. Fred. L. Wise appeared before the Board in reference to repair of Henry Drive. Louis Clausen appeared before Board asking what is bein1done about Widmer Road. Fred. Linehan appeared before Board asking about road conditions in Fleetwood Drive. Grover Roth appeared before Board asking about sewerage system. Mr. Incoronato appeared before Board asking about Dog Ordinance. Supervisor Linge stated nothing had been done further on this matter because it was the opinion of the Town Board that the Hearing showed that there was very strong opposition to this ordinance. Mr. Osten asked how long it would be before he would recive an answer. Board stated by next meeting. Mr. Myer of the American Air Surveys, Inc, Pa. explained the map proceedure. Mr. Dodson of the Valuation Ass., Inc. spoke about re -assessments. Motion was made by Councilman Robinson and seconded by Councilman Hait that the following resolution be adopted. Motion carried RESOLVED: That the Town Supervisor of the Town chs hereby author- ized to make, execute and deliver a proposed agreement with American Air Surveys, Inc. calling for tax maps in the sum of $22,750.00in form presented to this meeting and be it RESOLVED THAT THE TOWN SUPERVISOR of the Town i hereby authorized to make, execute and deliver a proposed agree- ment with the Valuation Associates, Inc.calling for a re- appraisal of property within the limits of the Town of Wappinger 60r a total lmmx sum of $24,800.00 in form pres presented to this meeting.
