1962-07-0512. Theregular monthly meeting of the Town Board,, Town of Wappinger was held in the Town,Hall, on Thursday evening, July 5, 1962. Present: Richard H. Linge, Supervisor, Councilmen -Malcolm Hait and George Robinson, Justices of the Peace, Joseph F. Kelly and Edward B. Beatty, Superintendent of Highways -Charles E. Mewkill, Sr., Town Engineer -Charles Maneri, Town Attorney -Judson Williams, Building Etspector-Kenneth Thornton, Town Clerk --Helen L. Travis. The meeting was opened at 8 P. M. by Supervisor Riehard H. Linge. The minutes of the last meeting were read, there being no corrections the minutes were approved astread. The bills for the month of June were read. Motion was made by Judge Beatty and seconded by Judge Kelly that his regignation be accepted with regrets. Motion carried A letter was read from Mr. J. S,/`Marshall, Secretary of the Lake Onaiad Owners Association asking to purchase a triangle of land, owned by the Town, bordering the Northwest edge of Lake Oniad. The Association offered $50.00. Mr. Puzio spoke about same stating that this was being done to keep this as a recreation area for the children. Mrs. Halstead and Mrs. Schreiber, spoke stating that the road had always been there and they saw no need for changing same and that they were opposed to doing same. Mr. Marshall spoke, giving reasons for doing same. He then asked that the letter be tabled until a later date, stating that he would try to get the parties involved together and see if they could not come to some agreement. Motion was made by Judge Beatty and seconded by Councilman Robinson that this letter be tabled until a later date when it could be determined if the parties had dome to any agreement. Motion carried The following list of Democratic Election Inspectors was read. Lieberman DISTRICT NO. 5--Concetta Todd --James Stacklum DISTRICT NO. 6 --Fay Rao --Albino Medio Motion was made by Councilman Robinson and seconded by Judge Beatty that the above be appointed for the year starting July 15th, 1962. Motion carried. Tlie following resolution was presented. RESOLVED that the proper officials of the Town are authorized and directed to obtain from New Yor} State Employees' Retirment System at a cost of not to exceed 125., a preliminary valuation to determine the estimated cost to the Town of electing coverage for employees of the Town under the State Retirement System. Motion was made by Judge Beatty and seconded by Councilman Rob- inson that the resolution be adeopted. Mttion carried. Letter was read from State of New York, Department of Public Works stating--Fisakill Plains -Poughkeepsie Rd --Pt. 1--S. H. #8093 1 0 U Fishkill Pls--East Fishkil--S. H. #1235 --have been des- ignated as restricted Highways. Copy of this to be sent to William J. Bulger, De Garmo Hills Road, Wappingers Falls, N. Y. for the New Hackensack Fire Department Kenneth Thornton, Building Inspector reported that 58 permits had bben issued in June with an estimated Value of 586,000.00 and Fees of 621.50. Mr. Dysard appeared before the Board asking about Circle Drive Chelsea, N. Y.and what they had t to do to have it accepted. The Board stated that after it mat the approval of the Sup- erintendent of Highways, the Town Engineer they would theg accept it. Mr. Carmine Rende appeyred before the Board asking about fixing Pine Ridge Drive and norothy Lane. Ir Mewkill stated that he was going to begin work on them this week. Mr. Clausen appeared before Board asking the Board to amend the g=k Yard Ordinance in reference to fences. The Board explained that this would be taken care of by the zoning law. He also aksed about fixing Widmer Road. Board stated this is one of the roads to come under the Ervin Plan. Mr. Schuele asked the Board to accept Beatty Road, but due to the rule that the Board made stating that Bond & Deed must be in the hands of the Town Clerk 10 days before the meeting they could not act upon same. They stated if Mr. Schuele would get the Deed and Bond in they would hold a special meeting on Thursday evening July 19th, 1962 to act upon this matter only, Motion was made by jJudge Kelly and seconded by Councilman Robinson that the mating adjourn.
