1955-05-19A ;spe" meeting of the Town Board,Town of Mappinger,was held in the Town hall on Thursday evening May 19#1955 Present Supervisor Edward•R.Scofield,Justices dames•J.Lyons and Edward- B.Beatty,Councilman Emory J.Hager and Town Clerk Edith H.BDoth. Meeting called to order by Supervisor Scofield at 8_6fclock P.M. The meeting was called for the purpose of receiving applications for the appointment of a councilman to fill the vacancy caused by the death of councilman Jesse H.DeVoe and for any other Town business to come before the meeting,but one application being received from Harold J.Meidd.11 the following motion was offered by Councilman Hager seconded by Justice Lyons that Harold J.Mewkill be appointed councilman to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Jesse H.DeVoe,this appointment to take effect immediately and the said Harold J.Mewkill shall bold said office until Dec.31,1955 Carried tum monaly. k set of resolutions was read by the clerk concerning the passing of Councilman DeVoe. Notion made by Councilman Hager seconded by Judge Beatty that a copy of this' resolutions to be tendered to the bereaved family and agreed upon tke minutes of the Town records. Notion carried Resolution by Justice Beatty seconded bY*Councilman Hager Be IT Resolved that the Chairman of the Board of Assessors of the Town of Mappinger be and he hereby is 4AMPAsed and empowered to expend the necessary ymoney,not in excess of wee Hundred Dollars($300.00) during the current fiscal year,to purchasg copies of maps filed in the Dutahess County Clerks Office and photostatic copies of the description s of properties transferred by deeds recorded therein,as the same may be required by the Board of Assessors in order to properly and accurately complete the assessment roll of said Township,and be it further YSSOLVBD that the said 8hairman shall present to the Town Board of the Town of Nappinger verified vouchers for all moneys so expended which same shall be audited by said Board as prescribed by law. The foregoing resolution being put to vote on roll call was adopted by the unanimous vote of all present. Motion made by Councilman Hager seconded by Justice Lyons that meeting adjourn.
