A regular meeting of the Town Board,Town of Wappinger was held in the Town
Hall January 5,1956
.Present Supervisor Edward R.Scofield,Supt.of Highway,Virgil Knight,Justices
Joseph F.Kellyyand Edward B.Beatty,Councilmsn Emory J.Hager and Harold
Mewkill and Town Clerk,Edith H.Booth.
Meeting called to order by Supervisor Scofield at 700 P.M.
Minutes of previous Meeting read and approved as read.

be appointed local Registrar for a term of two years8cember 31,1957

Motion made Justice Beatty seconded by Councilman Mewkill that $400.00
be appropriated to the Grinnell Library for maintenance. Carried
Motion made by Councilman Hager seconded by Justice Beatty that the regular
meeting of the Town Board be held the first Thursday after the first Tuesday
of each Month. Carried.
Notion made by Councilman Hager seconded by Councilman Mawki.11 that the
scale of wages for the :Highway Department be as follows:
2nd.Class Operator 1.50 per hour or 12..00 per day 8 hours
1st Class Operator 1.40 per hour or 11.20 per day 8 hours

Notion made by Judge Kelly seconded by Judge Beatty that Supervisor
Scofield be designated as delegate to attend the annual meeting of the
Association of Towns to be held at the Hotel Statler,Buffalo,N.Y.
Beginning at 1Os00 A.M. Tuesday February 7th.,and ending Thursday
February 9th.1956,at 1:00 P.M. and that apy Town Official who cares to
attend may do so it being a Town change. Carried
Motion made by Councilman Hager seconded by Judge Beatty that the following
be appointed Constables at $1.25 per hour when so employed,Joseph Costa
Frank H.Osterc,Elting Scott,Walter J.Altonen and Dwight L. Robbins, Virgil
Knight. Carried
Motion made by Councilman Mewkill seconded by Judge Kelly that the
Supervisor be allowed a bookkeeper,salary not to exceed $100.00 a
year, Carried

Motion made by Councilman Hager seconded by Councilman Mowkill than
the Supt.of Highway be empowered to purchase tires,tubes and equipment
as the occasion might demand the price not to exceed $1000.00

be empowered to publish yearly report. Carried

National. Bank of Wappingers Falls,N.Y.be designated as depositary of
Town Funds for the Town of Wappinger for the year 1956. Carried
Motion made by Judge Kelly seconded by Judge Beatty that Winfield S.
Beasley be appointed chairman of the Board of Assessors

Motion made by Judge Beatty seconded by Councilman Hager --- Carried
Resolved that the Town Board does hereby fix the salaries of the following
Town Officers and employees for the year beginning January 1,1956 at the
amounts respectively stated and that such salaries shall be payable at
the times respectively speckified.

the Deputy Supervisors appointment be approved by the Town Board.
