1956-09-13A special meeting of the Town Board,Town of Wappinger,was held in the
Town Hall on September 13,1956
Present Supervisor Scofield,Justices of Peace Beatty and Kelly,Councilman
Hager and Mewkill,Also Town Attorney Lyons and Town Engineer Petrovitz.
Supervisor Scofield called the meeting to order for
discussion on matters pertaining to the formation of a water district
in the Overland Homes development"..and any other matters that might be
brought up.
Upon request of Engineer Petrovitz permission was granted
to the N.Y.State Water Power & Control Commission to hold a haering,at a
time designated by them,at the Town Hall to determine if a water supply
system as requested by Mr.Louis Eck shall be approved.
On motion of Justice Kelly seconded by Councilman
Hager the following resolution was adopteds
That Mr.iovis Eck be advised that a petition for the
formation of a water district in the Orchard Homes Development will
be considered by the board when at least 60 homes have been sold therein
and a petition is presented signed by the owners of at least 31 homes
so sold,provided that tees for hydrants and mains of adequate size for
for fire protection,as approved by the Town Engineer,are installed
throughout the district,and provided further that the entire water
system be dedicated without cost to the Town or the District.
