Motion carried After a canvas by the Town Board of the result of Tuesdays November 5th. election ,motion by Justice of Peace Kelly seconded by Councilman Hager that the result sheet appeared to be correct and were ordered filed. Motion Carried Motion made by Judge Beatty seconded by Councilman Mewkill,that the Board of Health,Town of* appinger be abolished as of January 1,1958 Dutchess County Board of Health will take over all Towns on that date. Motion carried Motion made by Justice of Peace Beatty seconded by Councilman Mawkill that the Superintendent of Highways be empowered to advertize for bids for a sand spreader having a capacity of five to six cubic yards of sand or cinders,quotations will be received until November 2031957 at 7:00 P.M.-E.S.T. Motion carried Motion made by Justice of Peace Kelly seconded by Justice of Peace Beatty Resolved that Peters Road & Feters Road north as described in a deed from Manuel & Anna Peters to the Town of Wappinger dated June 6,1957 be accepted as a public highway of the Town of Wappinger,such acceptance to become effective upon conveyance to the Tovm of a drainage easement acceptable to -the Town Supt.of Highway. Motion carried A letter concerning a,stop sign at the intersection of Liss Road which has an exit on eft Route 9 was sent to the State Department of Public Works asking for a stop sign at the above named exit. The following letter of sympathy was sent to the bereaved family of Dr. jnjilI iam E. Garlick. airs .William E . Garlick Wappingers Falls,N.Y. Dea•Mrs.Garlick: It is With deep sorrow that we record the passing of our friend and brother Dr.William E.Garlick.He has served with untiring devotion and through his fine qualities of heart he has won our high esteem and deep affection.We shall miss him not only in our personal association but also in services so efficiently rendered as a public official. His was a character of rare honesty and all who came in contact with him felt the influence of his ever ready smile backed by a wealth of courage and cheer,which was ever an inspiration. We -who. are left shall miss him greatly but the influence of his character will ever be present and we can never think of him as gone but rather waiting for us in his old accustomed way to cheer us with a cheery smile and a nod of greeting. To the bereaved family we express our heart felt sympathy in the great loss that they have pu.stained. It was resolved on this 7TH.day of November 19S7 by the members of the Town Board,Town of Wappinger,that a copy of this resolution be tendered to the bereaved family and spread upon the minutes of the Town Board,Town of 71appinger.
