1958-09-04A regular meeting of the Town Board,Town of Wappinger was held in the Town Hall on Thursday evening September 4,1958 Present Supervisor Edward R.Scofield,Justices Joseph F.Kelly & Edward B.Beatty,Councilmen Emory J.Hager & Harold J.MewkiU,James J.Iyons Attorney and Town Clerk Edith H.Booth. Meeting was called to order by Supervisor Scofield at 7:30 o'Clock P.M. Minutes of previous meeting read and approved as read. General Fund. Motion carried Motion made by Councilman Hager seconded by Councilman Mewkill that the two Justices of the Peace membersof the Town Board be authorized to attend an advance course for justices of the peace sponsored by the New York State Education Department, any expenses incurred to be a Town charge. Motion carried Mr:Merr:ill McMillen,Chairman Committee Smithtown & Cooper Road appreciated work done on that road and would further appreciate survey and map of proposed highway which would specify necessary land takings to build desired highway. Michael M rras.,peed on Theresa Blvd.presented to Town Board9turn around provided for in the deed in the manner suggested for by Town Engineer Regularly moved and seconded that the Town take over and maintain same (Map & Deed filed with Town Board.Recommended by Highway Supt.beginning on Cedar Hill Road and running 1238 feet easterly. Vr.Post,Mr.LaForge.Mr.Cummings & Mr.Woessner all of South Fowler House Road appeared before the Board asking when they were going to get a ditch down both sides of the road and also drainage on Fowler House road South. This matter Is in the hands of our town engineer. Ur Charles Card was present and wished information on the stakes that were put in by the Town Engineer. U Russell Stocker,William Leach,David Kohnke & Jim Mead - Ardmore Hills Estates appeared before the board concerning the remPval of a telephone pole in roadway and were promised that an attempt would be made to put pressure on the C.H.G.&E. Corporation to remove said pole Mr.William Brocker (Spook dill Road) off Myers Corner Rd.complained concerning conditions of dust on Park Lane .Highway Supt.Virgil Knight told the Board that he had applied calcium to this section of the road 11r.Louis Eck - Ardmore Drive & Orchard Drive First 20001 Ardmore - 1500, Orchardv Ardmore Drive now complete.Oil & Stone approximately 20001now complete ` Agent Rosenberg wrote a bond,amount desided on at previous meeting.Resolution ! adopted at July 1957 meeting. Bond required for performance on balance of the j road. Part of road now completed according to specifications will be maintained.
