budget/on Thursday
evening, Oct. 292 1959 from 7:30 to 9 p. m. Members of the Board
Supervisor -Edward R. Scofield,
attending were:- Councilmen Harold Mewkill and Emory Hager, Highway
Superintendent -Virgil W. Knight, Justice of Peace -Joseph Kelly and
Deputy Town Clerk -Helen L. Travis. Twenty-two persons attended.
Several questions were asked: -Would the salary of Highway employees
be raised. Highway Superintendent Knight said he was recommending
that they he raised 20¢ per hour. Questions were asked pertaining
to Recreation Fund. Discussion was also hald pertaining to 5 year
plan for reads. Discussion was had about salary of Board Members.
Supervisor Scofield stated that these were just suggested raises
but it would be up to the new Board as to whether they would be
given or not.
The Hearing closed at 9 p. m.
A Special meeting of the Town Board, Town of Wappinger was held
in the Town Hall on Thursday evening, Oct. 29 at 9 p. m. Members
attending were: -Supervisor -Edward R. Scofield, CouncilmenOHarold
Mewkill and Emory Hager, Highway Superintendent -Virgil W. Knight,
Attorney -James J. Iyons-, Justice of the Peace -Joseph Kelly -
Deputy Town Clerk -Helen L. Travis. Supervisor Scofield called
the meeting to order at 9 p. m. -
A motion was made by Councilman Mewkill and seconded by Justice of
Peace Kelly that the 1960 preliminary budget be accepted.
Motion carried
Attorney Lyons presented Cam eli Acre Light Distreit Contract from
the Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corp. for the approval of the
Board. A motion was made by Councilman Hager and seconded by
Councilman Mewkill that the contract by accepted. Motion carried
A motion was made by Councilman Mewkill and seconded by Councilman
Hager that the meeting adjourn Motion carried.
