1960-09-08The regular monthly meeting of the Town Board Tow , Town of Wappingers was held in the Town Hall, on Thursday evening, September 8, 1960 Presents -Supervisor, Richard H. Linge, Justices of the Peace -Joseph F. Kelly and Edward B. Beatty, Councilmen -Emory J. Hager and Malcolm Hait, Superintendent of V, Highways -Charles Mewill, Sr., Toym Engineer -Charles Maneri, Taira Attorney - James J. Lyons, Ton Clerk -Helen L. Travis. The meeting wqs opened by Supervisor, Richard H. Lingo at 8 P. M. The minutes of the last meeting were read, and the minutes of the Special Meettng held on Thursday egening, August 11th, 1960 were read. A motion was made by Councilman Hager and seconded by Judge Beatty that the bills be paid. Motion. carried. The bids on the new snow plow were opened at 8 P. M, and were as follows: Torres Equipment Company Wappingers Falls- 1286.00 Ken Smith Machinery Company -Albany, N. Y. 1197.00 Ralph C. Hermans Company, Marlboro, N. Y. 1595.00 A motion was made by Judge Kelly and seconded by Judge Beatty that these bids be held over until the Superintendent of Highways had time to inspect the plows. Motion carried. Mr. Rosen appeared before the Board, for the Salvage Dealers, in reference to the Salvange Ordinance. Changes were submitted, and the Board and Mr. Rosen agreed to submit these to the Planning Board for reconsideration. The Planning Board then to present them to the Board at the next meeting. Mr. Charles Card appeared before the Board asking that his Bond be returned on Peggy Lame. A motion was glade by Councilman Hait and seconded by Judge Beatty that Peggy Lane having been completed in accordance with the Town Sepcifi cations,, that the Performance Bond heretofore given by Mr. Card for this work be released. MotibIL carried. Merrill Effron appeared before the Board, on behalf of Fleetwood Sewerage Dis- posal Corporation and Fleetwood Water Works Corporation, with petitions for the Town Boards consent to the formation of such corporations in accordance with the provisions of the Transportation Corporations Law. A motion was made by Judge Kelly and seconded by Councilman Hait that such consent be given. The area of operation, of such corporations, however, be limited to the lands owned by Osborn'Hills, Inc. The motion was approved by Eugene Conte, representing the jEanning Board and by the Town Superintendnent of Highways and was unanimously carried. Mr. Thomas Dietz appeared for Paneram Estates, asking that Brothers Road, Dose Road, Gold Road, Montfort Woods Lane, be accepted by the Town, with a Performan Bond being given in the amount of $12,000.00 Roads to be completed Abowtstp 1961. A motion was made by Councilman Hager and seconded by Councilman Hait, that contingent upon the receipt of a good and fufficient Deed conveying such roads and appurtenant easements and do the filing of a Performance Bond in the amount of $12,000.00 quaranteeing the completion of such roads in owner, agreeing accordance with Town Specifications, the 26wnxvdd& mgxxx to maintian Abe roads keeping them in condition for snows removal, the Town agreeing to maintain snow removal. Motion carried. 32 Resolving that the 'Resolution of the Board in reference to Brookfield Drive, E. Brookfield Drive, Grayston Drive and West Brookfiled Drive, adopted at a regular meeting on July 91 1959 be, and same hereby is amended to provide that the Town of Wappinger sall henceforth provide snow removal for such roads, and the said resolution shall otherwise remain in full force and effect as originally adopted* A motion was made by Judge Beatty and seconded by Councilman Hager that the meeting adjourn* /q G1 ° .k Town Clerk
