1961-01-056J The regular monthly meeting of the Town Board, Town of Wappinger, was held in the Town Hall, on Thursday evening, January 5th, 1961. Present: -Supervisor Richard H. Linge, Justice of the Peace -Joseph F. Kelly and Edward B. Beatty, Councilmen Emory J. Hager and Malcolm I Hait, Super- intendent of Highways -Charles Mewkill, Sr., Town Attorney -James J. Lyons, Town Engineer -Charles Maneri and Town Clerk -Helen L. Travis. The meeting was opened by Richard H. Linge, Supervisor at 8 P. M. The minutes of the last meeting were read.. Motion carried. Councilman Hait asddd the Board to take up the matter of improving the lighting conditions iii tkkipciE Hughsonville. A motion was made by Councilman Hager and seconded by Judge Kelly that this be done. Motion carried. Attorney Lyons reported that an optionhd.d been taken of Mrs. Becker for the property, Motion was made by Judge Beatty and sonced by Councilman Hager that any member of the Town Boarddand Town Attorney, be allowed to attend the Association of Town Convention in Buffalo on Februa4ry 6, 7 $E 8 at the Statler Hilton Hotel. Motion carried A motion was made by Councilman Hager and seconded by Councilman Hait that Dwight Robbins be appoint Multiple Dwelling Inspector at $100.00 per year. Motion carried. Motion made by Judge Kelly and seconded by Councilman Hager that Charles Maneri be appointed Town Engineer. Motion carried. Mottion was made by Councilman Hait and seconded by Judge Kelly that Mrs. Concetta Silvestri be appointed Bookkeeper for Stpervisor Linge. Motion carried. Motion was made by Judge Kelly and seconded by Councilman Hager that an appropriation of $1000.00 be made to Grinnell Library Motion carried Motion was made by Judge Beatty and seconded by Councilman Hait that the wage saale for Highway workers for the yea4r b44 b.l OPERATORS $2.M0 per Hour CHAUFFEURS LABORERS $1.90 per Hour $1.80 per Hour Employees to be granted 11 Legal Holidays per year with pay. Motion carried. Motion was made by Judge Kelly, seconded by Judge Beatty that the following be appointed constables for the year 1961—Dwight Robbins, Joseph Costa, Walter Altonen, Robert Laffin, Arthur Coughlin, Arther Dyson, Elting Scott, John Yaccarine and Thomas Macrini. Motion carried Motion was made by Judge Beatty and seconded by Judge Kelly that the 1st National Bankof Poughkeepsie, Wappingers Falls, Branch Office be designated as the Depository for Town Funds, for the Town of Wappinger for the year 1961. Motion carried Motion was made by Judge Kelly and seconded by Councilman Hager that Edward Husted be appointed Chairman of The Board of Assessors. Motion carried Motion was made by Councilman Hager and seconded by Judge Beatty that Mrs. Agnes Grosenbeck by appointed Deupty Town Clerk for the year 1961 at a salary of $1.25 per Hour. Motion carried Motion was made by Judge Beatty and seconded by 6iudge Kelly that Councilman Hager by appointed Deputy Supervisor. Motion carried. Motion was made by Councilman Hait and seconded by Judge Beatty that Helen L. Travis by appointed Registrar of Vital Statistics for the Town of Wappinger for the year 1961'. Motion carried. Motion was made by Councilman Hait and seconded by Councilman Hager that the following resolution be accepted: Resolved that the Town Board does hereby fix the salaries of the following Town officers and employees for the year beginning January 1st, 1961 at the amount apex respectively stated and that such salaries shall be payble at the time res— pectively specified.
