1961-06-27A §pecial meeting of the Town Board, Town of Wappinger, was
held in the Town Hall, on June 27th, 1961 at 8 P. M.
Present:- Supervisor -Richard H. Lange, Justices of the Peace -
Joseph F. Kelly and Edward B. Beatty, Councilman -Malcolm I.
Hait, Town Engineer -Charles Maneri, Superintendent of Highways -
Charles E. Mewkill, Sr., Deputy Town Clerk -Agnes Grosenbeck.
The meeting was opened by Supervisor -Richard H. Linge.
Judge Kelly pritsented a petition signed by about 150 residents
in the Chelsea area. This was in the form of a complaint about
soot coming from Castle Point Veterans Hospital, Power House.
Mr. Kelly suggested getting peopled from Cheleea and Castle
Point to .petition them .to convert to oil heat and also to
send original petition with a letter to Mr. Vincent Powers,
Castle Point, asking what could be done to eliminate this
condition. To send copy of this letter to Arthur Coughlin,
Chelsea, N. Y.
The subject of the Reese Property was brought up by Supervisor
Linge. This matter was discussed and the Board was asssured that
the only cost would by about $200. for transferring property.
A motion was made by Judge Beatty and seconded by Councilman
Hait that this property be accepted. Motion carried.
The bids for the loader ware discussed.
Motion was made by Judge Beatty and seconded by Councilman Hait
that the bid of Edward Ehrbar Company, Inc., be accepted.
Motion carried
Motion was made by Judge Kelly and seconded by Councilman Hait
that the meeting adjourn. Motion carried
