1962-02-08146 The regular monthly meeting of the Town Board, Town of Wappinger was held in the Town Hall, on Thursday evening, February 8, 1962. Present:-Supervieer-Richard H. Linge, Councilmen --George Robinson and Malcolm Hait, Justices of the Peace -Joseph F. Kelly, Super- intendent of Highways --Charles E. Mewkill, Sr., Town Attorney - Judson Williams, Town Engineer -Charles Maneri, Town Clerk - Helen L. Travis. The meeting was opened at 8:00 o'clock by Supervisor, Richard H. Lingo. The minutes of the last meeting were read and the minutes of the Special Meetins of January 8, 1962 and January 15, 1962 were read. Motion was made by Judge Kelly and seconded by Councilman Robinson that the minutes be accepted as read. Motion carried. Altonen asking Town Board for permission to purchase uniformed badges for the Constables. Motion was made Judge Kelly and seconded by Councilman Hait that Walter Altonen be given permission to purchase badges for the constables not to exceed $30.00. Motion carried A letter was received from William Ryan explaining Recreation programas it stands at present time. This letter is to be plaza turned over to new Recueation Commission A letter was received from David Constantine pertaining to fire hydrants, this was answered by Attorney Williams The attached resolution was made pertaining to Water District. Motion was made by Councilman Hait andseconded by Judge Kelly that this resokfition be accepted. Motion carried. Motion was made by Judge. Kelly and seconded by Councilman Hait that Dwight Robbins be appointed Constable. Motion carried. The Bids for Gasoline were opened. Bids were as follows: Mid Hudson Oil Company, Inc. 5.1340 per, Gallon Sinhlair Refining Company-- 13.9 per Gallon 148 Motion was made by Judge Kelly and seconded by Councilman Robinson that Mid Hudson being the lowest litd that this bid be accepted. Motion carried. The Bids for Fuel Oil were received as follows: Mid Hudson Oil Company -44n $.1176 Sinclair Refining Company -- .1172 Motion was made by Judge Kelly and seconded by Councilman Rob- inson that the low Bid of the Sinclair Refining Company be accepted. Motion carried Bids were received as follows: Leemac Sand & Stone Corp. --Gravel & Crushed Stone. Spoor Lasher Company, Inc. --Tar, Latex Bituminous Material, Base Conditioner and Crushed Stone Dutchess Quarry & Supply Co., Inc. --Bituminous Mix and Kotal Bituminous Mix. Motion was made by Councilman Hait and seconded Judge Kelly that these be laid over until next meeting so that the Sup- erintendent of Highways can go over them. Motion carried Mr. Mc Ghee presented Vwdext Vandewater Road to the Town. This was not quite up to specifications so it was laid over until a special meeting. Mr. Brannen asked about getting answers to questions in letter. Mr. Lingo stqted we are going over same with the Planning Board. Mr. Contespoke about Recreation program. Mr. Ryan, spoke on recreation and the Developement of parks Mr. Dennis Hannon, spoke about family type recreation. The Kiwanis Club reported they are planning a work day at the Becker property. 153 Dr. Harvey Miller spoke about recreation and spoke about the need for water facilities. Town as may be properly included in said Water District be included. Then be it further resolved that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Dutchess shall deem this to be a request on the part of the Town of Wappinger to be included in the Dutchess County Water District.
