A special meeting of the Town Board, Town of Wappinger was held
on Thursday evening, July 19th, 1962, in the Town Hall, Mill
Street.
Present: -Supervisor -Richard H. Lingo, Councilmen, George Rob-
inson and Malcolm Halt., Justice of the Peace, Joseph F. K011y,
Superintendent of Highways -Charles E. Mewkill, Sr., Town Clerk
Helen L. Travis.
The meeting was opened at 8 P. M. by Supervisor, Richard H. Linge.
Mr. Eugene Schuele an officer of Edge Hill Manor, Inc., appeared
before the Board asking for acceptance of Beatty Road and presented
a deed and a 0,000.00 cash Bond.
The following resolution was made by Councilman Hait and seconded
by Councilman Robinson,and carried
WHEREAS: Edge Hill Manor, Inc., has tendered to Town of Wappinger
by deed dated July 6, 1962, a certain roadway, known as Beatty
Road, the same being in the said township, and
WHEREAS: Said road has not been finished to the Town specific-
ations and Edge Hill Manor, Inc., has posted a Three Thousand
Dollar $3,000.00) cash Bond, guaranteeing completion of said
roadway by July 1, 1963, in accordance with Town road specif-
ications,
Now, therefore, Be it Resolved that Town of Wappinger hereby
tentatively accepts Beatty Road as a public road bubOect to the
completion of the road by the owner to Town specifications and
until such time the owner is responsible for maintenance and
snow removal.
The Town Clerk stated that a change wqs requested in the
Replublican Election Inspectors in District #3 as follows:
Mrs. Helen Howell instead of Mrs. Maude Goebel.

Motion was made by Justice of Peace Kelly and seconded by Councilman
Robinson that this change be accepted. Motion carried.
Supervisor Linge presented the name of Donald Savory atts Director
of Civil Defense.
Motion was made by Councilman Hait and seconded by Councilman
Robinson that Donald Savory be appointed Director of Civil
Defense. Motion carried
Motion was made by Councilman Hait and seconded by Councilman
Robinson that the meeting adjourn. Motion carried.
