1954-12-02112 A special meeting of the Town Board,Toyin of Wappinger was held in the Town
Hall on Thursday Evening December 2,1951
Present Supervisor Edward R.Scofield AVpt.of Vighfty.,Harry B.Griswold,
Justices James J.Wons and Edward B.Beatty,Counioilmen Emory J.Hager and
Jesse H DeVoe and Town Clerk,Edith H.Booth.
Meeting was called to order by Supervisor Scofield at, 8 o'clock P.M.
The following resolution was offered by Justice of the Peace ,James J.Iyons.
Whereas,the Town Superintendent of Highways has,at this meeting..
recommended the purebase of certain highway machinery,vizt a new four yard
dump truck meeting the minimum specifications set forth in his recommendation
which is attached hereto and hereby made a part of this resolution , and
Whereas the Town Board,pursuant to Section 142 of the Highway
Law,has considered such recommendation and the purchase of such highway
machinery is deemed advisable and necessary for the proper maintenance of the
town higImys of the Town of Wappinger,and
Whereas the Town Board desires to authorize the Superintendent
to enter into a contract for the purchase of such machinery,now therefore
be it
Resolved that the Town of Wappinger adverti.ze for sealed bids
to the end that a contract for the purchase of such machinery may be
awarded pursuant to law,and be it further
Resolved that the Town Clerk be and she hereby is authorized
and directed to advertize for such bids by causing a notice to be published
in the official new paper of the Town,such notice and the publication thereof
to be in compliance with Section 103 of the General Municipal Law.
Seconded by Justice of the Peace Edward B.Beatty.
Upon being put to a vote,the foregoing resolution was unaaraiously adopted.
The: following resolution was proposed by Councilman Hager
seconded by Justice Beatty that the C.H.G.&„F.Corp, be authorized to make
the following changes to the Street'Lighting Service for the Chelsea
Lighting District.
Resolvedt
That 2500 lumen lights be installed at the following locations
in Chelseat
Market Street,pole #31637
Liberty Street,pole #34094
Broadway',pole #29896
That the following lights be changed from 1000 lmmens to 2500
open lumenst
Light #3 on Front Street,Pole #343-14
Light #7 on Market Street,pole #34110
Light #18 on Liberty Street,pole 34097
Light #19 on Liberty Street,#30447
That the following lights be changed from 1000 lumens to 1000 open Lumenst
Light #8 Market St -,pole #34107 Light #14,Liberty St.,pole 34088
Light #9,Market St.,pole N.Y.Tel.O24 Light #17,Liberty Street,Fble #34095
These changes to be subject to the terms of the existing contract for Street
lighting with increased charge of $159.79 per year.

Motion made by Councilman Hager seconded by Justice Lyons that the Supervisor
be empowered to pay to the Dutchess County Treasurer the sum of $5000. ,
this amount to be taken from wiexpenOed balance in the General Fund,to be used
by the County Treasurer to reduce amunt of levy of State and County tax
against the Town of Wappinger. Motion carried.
Motion made by Councilman DeVoe seconded by Justice Beatty that meeting
ad ourn. Carried
Motion made by Councilman Hager seconded by Councilman DeVoe that the
Supervisor be empowered to purchase a Royal Type Writer from Chester Satz
Compazq,Poughkeepsie,N.Y. price $92.50 Carried.
