The regular meeting of the Town of Wappinger Recreation Commission was held at the Town Hall on September 7, 1972 at 7:30 P. M. Attending: Messrs. Hugh J. Maurer, Richard Garren and James V. Porter Mrs. Alfred Arkell Mrs. R. L. Beahan Mr. W. Thomas Rogers, Director of Recreation Absent: Mr. George Schlathaus Director of Recreation Mr. Rogers reported that all summer programs have ended and ~t present there are no recreational programs in progress. Mr. Rogers '1s preparing his End of Season Report and will present it at the next meeting. Horse Show Mr. Maurer reported that the show will be held on Sunday, October 22nd. Prize lists will be available in the next few weeks and can be picked up at the Town Hall at that time. Proposed 1973 Budqet Figures of the Proposed Budget were reviewed and it was agreed that it was ready to be submitted to the Town Clerk and Town Supervisor. Mrs. Arkell said that Mr. Jensen, Town Councilman, suggested to her that the Commission prepare a list of capital improvements they would like to see the Town Board consider in the next five to ten years. Commissioners agreed this was a good idea and will begin work on a list ~f priorities. Planninq Board Letters were received from the PlanningBoard as follows: 1. Letter'dated 8/25/72 requesting Commission comments on the Martin Leskow prope~ty , on Leskow Circle and the Donald McGrath property on Montfort Road. Leskow Prooerty- The Planning Board will be advised that although the Commission feels that land would be desirable they would like an opportunity to study the matter further before making a definite decision. McGrath Subdivision - The Commission indicated that a definite recommendation cannot be made until they have made a field trip to the area. The Commission indicated that they wished to make a field trip to this area before making a decision. The Gilman Subdivision on Robinson Lane was also discussed by the Com- mission. It was felt by the Commission that because this property is in such close proximity to the Town-owned recreation area~it would be their recommendation that money be accepted in lieu of land.
