The regular meeting of the Town of VJappinger Recreation Comi;iission was held
on. April 27, 1972 at 7:30 P.M. at the Town Hall.

~inutcs of the two previous meetings were approved as presented.
Survcv Guostionnaire
Mr. Garren submitted his final report. A total of 202 questionnaires were
~ompleted 6nd retu~ned.
Director of Recreation
Hr. Rogers reported that he had obtained the following quotations on buses
for the trips to Yankee and Shea Stadiums scheduled for August:

Commiisioners unanimously agreed that the bid should go to Ski Haus because
theirs was the lowest quotation.
Mr. Roge=s said that he will be interviewing applicants for summoremployment
at the various playgrounds. It was agreed that he would screen applicants
and would then present his selection to the Commission at the May 11, 1972
meeting. A special executive session will take place on May 18, 1972, at
which time final selections will be made.
Summer Swim Proqram

use of Willow Park for the swim program and he agreed that the Commission
could use the place every afternoon from 12:30 P.M. to 2:30 P.M. The cost
will be ~75.oo per week, or $450 per season, ~ 3o~ per child. Commissioners
felt that it would be to their advantage to consider the cost per child rather
than to pay a flat' rate per \fleek or season.
Mr. ROQers is to check into the possibility of using school buses'to transport
the ch11dren to and from the program.

Pondvimv and Snook Hill Estates
Commissioners agreed to accept recreation land as shown on maps of the above
two devclo;Jments. There is a total of about 10 acres in all. There WQS
some question rcg~rding sew~gG disposal and the possibility that effluent
might run off into the noarby stream. A letter will'be sent to the Planning
~oard indicating acceptance of the recreation land and an inquiry will be
made regarding sewage disposa~.

Mr. Garren oresented and read his memo dated 4/25/72 to the Commission in

which he set forth arrangements made with members of the Hughsonville Fire
Company regarding use of the ballfield. '
Annel Brook Estates
It was brought to the Commission's attention that the new developers of
the above area (Investors Funding Corp.) are considering turning over to
the Town the swimming pool (not completed). The Commissioners discussed
the matt~r'b~t:'felt that more information is needed and no decision can
be made until they have had an opportunity to talk with the developers.
