Hugh J. Maurer, George Schlathaus, James V. Porter, Richard Garren and Joseph Ennesser. Mr. W. Thomas Rogers, Director of Recreation Absent: Mrs. Alfred Arkell and Mrs. Raymond L. Beahan. ANGEL BROOK Mr. Frank Montillo, a representative from Angel Brook Estates, inquired about the bull dozing their Recreation Area. Mr. Maurer said the Commission received no answer from the Engineer yet and we are going to make a field trip to find out if we can bull doze sometime this month. FIRST AID Mr. Maurer said an Insurance Investigator brought it to the Commission's attention about purchasing First-Aid Kits to be kept with the tractor, which will be done. Also, he was informed by the investigator that for every 10 people working, it is mandatory to have this special type of First- Aid kit available nearby. DIRECTOR OF RECREATION Mr. Rogers stated the the Spring programs were allover. The Summer program started June 25th. Also, he stated that all the equipment was lost at Chelsea, and as soon as the cabinets and shelves are finished, we will take them to Chelsea to keep supplies. The trip to Shea is scheduled for July 11th. The swimming program starts Monday, July 9th with the Red Cross Instructors. Communication was received from County Executive William Bartles on "Touring Arts Festival 1973" with details and specifications if the Town of Wappinger was interested in sponsoring one. The Commission requested Mr. Rogers to look into it for next year to determine approximate cost to Town and that it was too late to consider it this year. TENf'JIS COURTS Mr. Maurer discussed the bids received to construct 4 tennis courts would cost about $50,000 to $60,000. Mr. Maurer proposed a 3 step program on excavation to have work done to cut cost for one year and spread it over two years to be completed in 1974; base, blacktop and fence. Mr. Maurer asked if commission would give him approval to go to Town Board with this proposal. Mr. Garren made a motion to go along with Mr. Maurer to present his proposal to the Town. Board, seconded by Mr. Porter. Carried. PUBLICITY Mr. Garren suggest that Mr. Rogers mail Recreation Program to the Poughkeepsie Journal, as some residents do not receive Southern Dutchess and many do pur- chase the other newspaper.
