"t--<./........l.. y TOWN OF WAPPINGER RECREATION COMMISSION MINUTES OF MAY 30, 1974 MEETING Next meeting - June 6, 1974 The regular meeting of the Town of Wappinger Recreation Commission was held at the Town Hall on May 30, 1974 at 7:30 p.m. Present: Messrs. Hugh J. Maurer, Richard Garren, Joseph Ennesser, George Schlathaus and Mrs. Raymond Beahan. Mr. W. Thomas Rogers, Director of Recreation Absent: Mrs. Alfred Ark ell and Mr. James V. Porter. TENNIS COURTS - DEDICATION I, ~I. " I Mr. Pat Siracusa, Tennis Instructor, presented a tentative program for the Grand Opening and Dedication of new Courts at Martz Field on June 9, 1974(rain date June 16th) at 1:00 p.m. The secretary was directed to send invitations to all elected officials and special guests. WAPPINGER PARK HOMES Mrs. Rose Wells advised the Commission that the e8t~mate proposed by Dave Alexander, Inc. in the amount of $650 for fill could not be done I at this time. The Department of Health advised her there was a mosquito problem created by septic drainage seeping in recreation area to be filled. Hea~th Department is going to put dye into every home to discover where seepage is coming from ground. Mr. Ennesser advised Mrs. Wells to follow through in her area and get back to Commission when fill can be completed in order to bring area to their requests of green, level and clean. 5VJI M PROGRAM Mr. Rogers advised the dates of July 8th through July 19th from 12 noon to 2:00 p.m. has been scheduled for Learn to Swim Program. Free swimming will still be as in the past once a week for 6 to 7 weeks with busses leaving recreation areas scheduled. \~'.~! G SJ.:__.2HQ.QJ.~. ~,. Also, the Commission advised him that Mr. Lapar and Mr. Horton are going to review drainage problem in his area. I . D. CARDS A discussion on identification for using Tennis Courts due to expected crowds led to question of issuing I.D. Cards to Town residents. A motion was made by Mr. Garren, seconded by Mr. Ennesser to have I~D. Cards made for General use for all Town Recreation sponsored programs using the Town of Wappinger Symbol. Carried ~nanimously. AGENDA Motion was made by Mr. Garren and.seconded by Mr. Ennesser that all Commissioners contact the Secretary to place the name of any individual, Civic Association or Organization, etc. on an agenda for next meeting. Motion carried unanimously. APPLICATIONS The Commissioners reviewed a great number of applications for the Summer Recreation Program and individuals selected will be contacted. J U L Y tvl E E TIN G The Recreation Commission will hold its July meeting on the 11th at 7:30p.m. at the Town Hall on the agenda to date are Pop Warner and Dutchess Youth Hockey Association.
