NExt Meeting - June 5, 1975
The regular meeting of the Town of Wappin;er Recreation Commission was held
at the Town Hall on May 8, 1975. The m~eting was opened at 7:40 P.M.
Present: Mr. Hugh J. Maurer, ~rs. Theresa Arkell, Mr. Richard Garren,
Mr. Joseph Ennesser, Mrs. Jea~ 3eahan, Mrs. Mary Schmalz and

Mr. James Eberhardt attended the mestin; to present the Commission with
viritten permission for the Jaycees to use, clean and rough grade the land
at Imperial Plaza. The Commission had agreed earlier to help with the
bulldozing and grading, provided writte~ permission was given by the owner.
Mr. Eberhardt explained that they are going to have a part carnival - part
circus that would run from July 1st to July 6th. It would consist of 10
to 15 rides, 75 to 80 games, horserides, train rides, a large tent, a hot
air ballon ride apd exhibits. Mr. Eberhardt wished to know of the Recreation
Commission would be interested in settin~ up a display at the carnival.
Mr. Eberhardt said he felt that many people in the Town of Wappinger are
not aware of what the Recreation Commission does and what facilities are
available to them. The Co~mission agreed to look into preparing a display.
Mr. Eberhardt also reported that the pro;ram for Mentally Retarded Children
was ending. ~r. Eberhardt said the pro~ram was a huge success and to give
everyone an idea on just how successful it was Mr. Eberhardt said there
are 37 children in the Town of Wappinger who qualify for the program and
25 of them attended. Mr. Eberhardt also said the Jaycees wished to donate
all the games they used to the Recreaticn Commission for use in the summer
program. Mr. Eberhardt thanked the Co~mission for all their support.

do all the Identification Cards. They would take the pittures and do the

a looinating machine worked and he looked up the price of the camera
which was 5300.00. Mrs. Schrnalz said he would also look into the price of

it has gotten too large.

~rs. Laura Zick presented the Commission with copies of the Proposod
Jinter Program and the End of Jinter Program Report.

A letter from the Red Cross was received concerning the Learn to Swim
P=ogram. Mr. Maurer motioned that the CO~lmissiorl carryon with the
proJram. It was seconded by ~r. Ennesssr and carried. The secretary was
requested to send a letter to make their intent known.
YANKEE JUNIOR PROGRAM

Junior Program and he discovered that the game was a night game. Mr.

with the parents picking up their cllildren. Mr. Maurer said he felt the

of intent for Recreation. The Commission agreed to send the maps back
for more information. ~r. Mill reI' stated that he wished to add alternates
