TOWN OF WAPPINGER RECREATION COMMISSION
MINUTES OF JUNE 3, 1976 MEETING
Next meeting - July 1, 1976
The regular meeting of the Town of Wappinger Recreation Commission was
held at the Town Hall on June 3, 1976. The meeting was opened at 7:45 P.M.
Present: Mr. Hugh J. Maurer, Mr. Joseph Ennesser, Mr. George Schlathaus,
Mrs. Jean Beahan, Mrs. Mary Schmalz and Mrs. Laura Zick
Absent: Mrs. Theresa Arkell and Mr. Richard Garren
TENNIS
Mrs. Dora Reinhard and Mr. Steffen Kraehmer attenaed the meeting to report
on the tennis program they had planned. Mrs. Reinhard reported that they
would start sign ups for the Ladder Tournaments right away and they
planned on having Men, Women and Junior Ladders. Also they planned on
holding Women's Round Robin during the day and Men's Double Round Robin
in the evening. The clinics were very popular and they felt that
possibly they could have a Women's Double clinic and a Men's Double
Clinic. Mrs. Reinhard said they would have to see how these things
went over and find a happy median between programs and open time on the
courts. Mrs. Rein haFd mentioned the possibility of a tennis team to
compete with other towns. /
CORRESPONDENCE
A letter was received from Mr. John Terry, Director of Continuing
Education, requesting the use of the Tennis Courts. The secretary was
requested to senda letter explaining that the courts are fully
scheduled for the weeks requested.
DIRECTOR'S REPORT
Mrs. lick reported that everything was set for the trip to Yankee Stadium
and two 54 passenger buses had been hired.
The meeting was closed at 10:00 P.M.
