The regular meeting of the Town of Wappinger Recreation
Commission was held January 14, 1982 at Town Hall, Mill Street, Village
of Wappingers Falls, Dutchess County, New York.
Mr. Maurer opened the meeting at 8:15 p.m.
Present: Hugh J. Maurer, Chairman, Joseph Mastroianni, Mary Schmalz, and
Bill Wood.

ii On a motion by Mr. Wood seconded by Mr. Mastroianni, the
mi~~tes of the December 10, 1981 meeting were approved.

BEAUTIFICATION
Mr. Mastroianni spoke with Michael DeMatteo who showed some
interest in our Town Beautification. Mr. Mastroianni will contact him
an~ invite him to one of our meetings so w~can discuss this further.
YOUTH BOARD
Mrs. Schmalz distribu~ed a booklet to members "Functions of
~he New York State Divisio;for iouth."
Mrs. Schmali recently attended a meeting on the census and
according to the records there are about 9,913 youths under 20 years
of age in the Town of Wappinger. There was a discussion on revenue which
followed.

SOCCER,
Instructional Soccer starts January 16th at Myers Corners
School and Wappingers Junior High for ages 6-17.
SLEIGH RALLY
Mr. Maurer mentioned the Sleigh Ralley which was held January 3rd.
It~was a success and there is a possibility of joining two other towns in
similiar rallys.
SENIOR CITIZENS
Mr. Maurer said there is a possibility of having Senior
Citizens Day.;at All Sport. All agreed it would be a good function and
Mr. Maurer will follow up with Mr. Ennesser.

SKATlNG
Mrs. Schmalz said there is a possibility that Town Residents
could get 810~ discount when skating at Park Place. She will be
looking further into this.
FLAG POLE
Nothing new on this.
BARN REPORT
1;h1S Mr. Presti has an update on the barn but was unable to attend
meeting.
MARTZ FIELD
Mr. Maurer mentioned that people were dumping articles at
"'Martz Field.
Meeting was adjourned at 9:15 on a motion by Mr. Mastroianni
