The responses from the references contacted were also favorable. While the Alternate Bid has a slightly higher construction cost than the Base Bid, it will require fewer easements, which will prevent any delays in starting the construction of the project and avoid any additional costs associated with acquiring these easements. It is therefore recommended that the Town of Wappinger award the Altemate Bid. Based on our review of WM Shultz Construction, Inc.'s bid and supporting documentation, we recommend that the Town of Wappinger awards the Altemate Bid To W.M. Schultz, Construction, Inc. in the contract amount of $4,229,530.00.
