We are waiting to get an okay to purchase that. Because it is the NYS bid we don't have to get three prices so we should send a letter to the Board. The fencing at Castle Point was not done yet because DiPiet has not received their check from the job they did on the Robinson Lane wing fence. Mr. Holt said that the check went out to a wrong address so it was returned. We will have to see if he has since received it and if so when he will start the work. The bulletin board at Reese Park has been fixed and is now back up. this month. He mentioned that they have had to do a lot of repairs on the equipment Two loads of pea stone were received from Red Wing. One was taken directly to Airport Park and the other to the Barn. The 1988 dodge truck needs a transmission. We need that done right away before we have to pay $200.00 for a tow job. He has received 3 estimates ranging between $1,400.00 and $1,800.00. He asked where the camps will be held at Carnwath. At one time it was mentioned the cafeteria but Mr. Sheridan said that it is filled with stuff from Cervalese. Along with the paneling are braces, brackets and lights. Mr. Holt will go down and take a look. And we will have to decide what we want so we don't have to move things several times. Mr. Rottkamp will show the instructors the chapel and the recreation room and see what they want to use. Mr. Holt said that the gates will be coming down but the fence will remain. At Schlathaus they have checked all the lights on the stage and all the Christmas lights are good. They will change some of the florescent lights. The pole lights are good. It was agreed that we set up an additional date and time to do the stragglers. So far the numbers are as follows for the camps: Castle Point 37 Martz 92 Quiet Acres 41 Spook Hill 145 Mrs. Manning mentioned that these numbers do not reflect the mail in applications. She was told that the Village has a camp and we could not allow her to attend our camp. Mr. Rottkamp asked if anyone in Town Hall needed to have CPR re-cert because he still has spots in the class. She mentioned that her children would be going there. CHAIRMAN'S REPORT Mr. Holt mentioned that we still need two commission members and we need a replacement for Mr. Rottkamp. Mr. Rottkamp said that he has turned in a list of names and addresses for his position. He mentioned that it would be nice if the person could shadow him the last couple of weeks. If anyone has any names for either position, please let Mr. Holt know. Mr. Holt said that he went around with FEMA today to look at the flood damage at the various parks. They will be meeting again next Thursday to see 3 more parks and either Mr. Holt or Mr. Sheridan will go with them. Everything at Carnwath with the exception of the roof that is going to be worked on is done. The roof will be worked on in June/July and we will have no trouble using the facility for the summer program. He suggested that the members take a look at the pool. The pool has been looked at by the engineers and it is said to be in great shape so now we are being asked if we can use it. It would entail a lot of things such as fences, filters etc. that go with the pools, we will also need lifeguards. If we get it going could we have the adults use it? Recreation Commission Minutes June 6, 2007 not expensive and Mr. Holt said that he would speak with Supervisor Ruggerio about this. Our plan for Community Day is in good shape. There are a few odds and ends that need taking care of but by the 21 st of this month we will have it pretty much set up. The next meeting will be July 10th at 9 am, at the Town Hall. Community Day is September 9th. He spoke with Rotary last week and received $1,000.00 from them for us letting them sell the tickets for the mechanical rides last year. We are hoping that we can count on at least that much for next year. Mr. Holt mentioned that he will follow up with the Supervisor's office on the P.O. for the T.V. and the DVD. We need them for next week's RTE/CPR course for the summer camps directors and counselors. We know that Mr. Ennesser has done his homework on this and received 3 quotes - 2 for the exact thing. He went to Best Buy and found a higher quality one at a better price so a P.O. was sent down for Best Buy and that was in March. Mr. Holt said that he will ask the Supervisor about the status of the trailer and the skag. He will speak with Mrs. Korz about her teachers planting the pachysandra. Maybe they can do it on the weekend. Mr. Holt mentioned that he has had no official word on the artificial turf for soccer. A discussion took place regarding whether we should order more recreation guides. It was mentioned that the Supervisor wants a high quality book to go out and to order more would be too expensive. It was decided that we ask him for approval to get 500 copies on the 60 lb paper but only in black and white for $1,013.25 from Goldlief. If he doesn't respond that is it. Mrs. Manning said that she has available for perusal by anyone interested, the plan for on-line registration for next year's sign up. If interested please ask her for a copy of the format.
