Resolution Appointing Town Clerk
At a regular meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger, Dutchess County,
New York, held at Town Hall, 20 Middlebush Road, Wappingers Falls, New York, on
September 9, 2013.
The meeting was called to order by Barbara Gutzler, Supervisor, and upon roll being
called, the following were present:

ABSENT:
The following Resolution was introduced by Councilman Kuzmicz and seconded by
Councilman Beale.
WHEREAS, a vacancy exists in the Office of the Town Clerk of the Town of
Wappinger, Dutchess County, New York, by virtue of the resignation of Christine Fulton, who
resigned as Town Clerk effective August 9, 2013; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Town Law § 64(5), the Town Board, or the majority Members
thereof, are authorized to fill such vacancy for the remainder of the unexpired term of the Office
of the Town Clerk.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, as follows:
1. The recitations above set forth are incorporated in this Resolution as if fully set
forth and adopted herein.
2. Pursuant to the authority vested in the Town Board pursuant to Town Law §
64(5), Michael J. Leonard of and residing at 15 Peter Drive, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590 a duly
qualified resident of the Town of Wappinger, is hereby appointed to fill the vacancy existing in
the Office of the Town Clerk of the Town of Wappinger.
3. The Town Board hereby appoints Michael J. Leonard as Town Clerk of the Town
of Wappinger, Dutchess County, New York, to fill the unexpired term of Christine Fulton,
effective immediately and shall continue through December 31, 2013
4. Upon appointment and taking oath of office for the position of Town Clerk,
Michael J. Leonard shall be paid the salary approved for the Office of the Town Clerk for
calendar year 2013, prorated. from the date of appointment through December 31, 2013.
5. Those Council Members voting in favor of such appointment shall hereby execute
the Certification of Appointment in the form attached hereto.
The foregoing was put to a vote which resulted as follows:
