2008-1322008-132 Resolution to Authorize Purchase Orders for the Town Recreation Department and for Supervisor to Sign the Contracts At a regular meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger, Dutchess County, New York, held at Town Hall, 20 Middlebush Road, Wappingers Falls, New York, on April 14'h, 2008. The meeting was called to order by Christopher Colsey, Supervisor, and upon roll being called, the following were present: PRESENT: Supervisor - Christopher J. Colsey Councilmembers - William H. Beale Vincent F. Bettina (left at 9:01 PM) Maureen McCarthy Joseph P. Paoloni ABSENT: The following Resolution was introduced by Councilwoman McCarthy and seconded by Councilman Beale. WHEREAS, the Recreation Commission has requested three purchase orders for tick Spraying for May, June/July, and September/October; and %A '' WHEREAS, the Recreation Commission received bids as follows: Company Bid N.Y. Tick Control $4,833.00 per visit Bug Busters Pest Control $3,358.34 per visit Craig Thomas Pest Control $4,500.00 per visit Waverly Pest Control $3,495.00 per visit WHEREAS, the lowest bidder for tick spraying is Bug Busters Pest Control at a cost of Three Thousand Three Hundred Fifty -Eight Dollars and 34/100 ($3,358.34) per visit NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, as follows: 1. The recitations above set forth are incorporated in this resolution as if fully set forth and adopted herein. 2. Three purchase orders are hereby authorized in the amount of Three Thousand Three Hundred Fifty -Eight Dollars and 34/100 ($3,358.34), payable to Bug Busters Pest Control, payable from Account A-7110.43 3. Supervisor Christopher Colsey is hereby authorized and directed to sign on behalf of the Town the contract between the Town of Wappinger and Bug Busters Pest Control, copies of which are affixed hereto. The first spraying will take place in May, the second at the end of June, just before camps start, and the last in late September. In the 2008 Recreation budget line A-7110.434 there are funds for the spraying of these recreation areas for the control of ticks: Castle Point, Martz Field, Rockingham, Schlathaus Park, Robinson Lane, Quiet Acres, Airport Park and Spook Hill. Waverly Pest Control will use insecticide Tempo SC Ultra by applying it to the surfaces of the areas and locations specif ied in Town Of Wappinger proposal bid. This chemical does not stain and should remain effective for 30-45 days. Any special servicing such as fogging, rodent control, bird control, wildlife control, or repairs due to animal infestation will be a separate charge, not covered under this agreement. Any emergency service or extra services will also be separate from this agreement unless covered under guarantee stated below. Waverly Pest Control will guarantee all work for 30 days from date of initial service. We recommend that area's are treated a total of three times per season for continuous effective control. Cost of exterior power spray maintenance service only, based on a flat rate for treatment will be $3495.00 per visit. Prices listed on service agreement are valid for one year from date signed.
